How it all works
Nothing could be easier! We'll help you determine the basic look (template) you'd like your website to have. Maybe you've been inspired by an existing site you've seen on the web... Or, you can choose elements from various sites as a starting point. Together we'll establish the presentation that best fits your image and the message you're trying to convey. We'll continue to personally consult with you regarding the details. We do all the work in putting everything together, but you'll always have the last word on content... logo, colours and text... and you can provide your own photo images and videos. On the administration side, we can register a Domain Name on your behalf and arrange ongoing web-hosting with an established Internet Service Provider (ISP). What It Costs
It's very affordable! Once we've determined the scope of your website project we'll provide you with a quotation for our services. That will cover everything from helping you establish your design style right through to finally publishing your live website. It will also include arranging for Domain Name registration (if needed) and web-hosting services from an Internet Service Provider (ISP). The cost of our services may be in the form of a one-time flat fee, or based on an hourly rate - whatever you feel the most comfortable with. Domain Name registration and web-hosting are ongoing services that will be billed directly to you by the ISP. We'll make it easy for you to supply us with the information we need to construct your site. First, we'll establish a template. You can send us photos and other content via email and we'll always be in sync with your preferences for the 'look and message' of the finished product. Back to FAQs 2. Can you help with things like logo design? With pleasure! It's included in our services. We'll work with you to embody your company's look, services and values in your website! If you need our help, we can help you decide on a logo design, and then create it for you. We'll consult with you closely on all aspects of the site's presentation. Back to FAQs 3. How long will it take? Starting from scratch, a relatively simple design and implementation could be on-line in just a matter of days! Once we've received your input and preferences, we'll go right to work. At the same time, we'll also coordinate with an ISP (if you don't already have one) to register your Domain Name and arrange for web-hosting. Back to FAQs 4. How can I make changes to the site in the future? Very easily! You can designate your own Web Master to take care of it for you... and certainly, LHA will be happy to take on the role! In fact for a two-week period after the live date, we'll make any adjustments or cosmetic changes you need for free. After that period, we'll still be there to help you out if you need us. Another option to consider: we can arrange for you to take advantage of one of the many Content Management services that exist on the Internet today. Although they require a certain amount of computer know-how and website savoir-faire, they essentially allow you to maintain all aspects of your website on your own without requiring any programming skills. Back to FAQs 5. Do I have to change my email address? No. However, if you're currently using something like @hotmail or @yahoo as your business address, maybe it's worth thinking about. Having your own Domain Name allows you to set up multiple addresses (e.g. sales@yourcompany.com) providing a more professional image. Back to FAQs 6. Now that I have a website, what are some other things I can take advantage of? In addition to the aforementioned Content Management services and personalized email addresses, there are loads of other Internet features that can be integrated into your site. Many of them are free of charge. For example, why not display a Google Map to pinpoint your location?
